Cyber Essentials Plus Accreditation

31 January 2024

Westgate Wealth Management takes your security seriously and are pleased to share that we have successfully gained the Cyber Essentials Plus Accreditation for another year.

Cyber Essentials is a government backed scheme which is designed specifically to help strengthen UK business resilience. By adopting and complying with the standard, organisations ensure that basic Cyber Security control measures are in place and working effectively. The Cyber Essentials scheme was designed to help organisations implement a basic level of cyber security to protect against around 80% of common cyber attacks. Cyber attacks come in many shapes and sizes, but the vast majority are very basic in nature, carried out by relatively unskilled individuals. They’re the digital equivalent of a thief trying your front door to see if it’s unlocked.

There are two levels of certification: Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus.

Both have the same requirements, but Cyber Essentials Plus certification involves a technical assessment, which provides an extra level of assurance about the effectiveness of the controls your organisation has implemented.
